Richard Tryon, formerly Richard Bostock, and widely known as ‘The Breath Guy,’ is a leading figure in the Breathwork movement, advocating for its role as the next revolution in health and wellness. As a Breathwork practitioner, researcher, author, and speaker, his mission is to share the life-changing potential of conscious breathing with the world.
Richard’s journey into Breathwork began unexpectedly when his father was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). While searching for ways to help, he discovered the Wim Hof Method, a practice combining breathwork and cold exposure. Experiencing its profound effects firsthand—and witnessing its benefits for his father—sparked his passion to explore the full potential of breath as a tool for healing and transformation.
Richard spent years traveling across five continents learning from many of the modern day masters of Breathwork and continuously witnessed the transformative effects of when people became aware of their breathing and started to use it as a tool to create physical, mental and emotional benefits for themselves.
Richard has now taught tens of thousands of people across the world in his events, retreats and online. He has worked on employee wellbeing initiatives with government departments and companies such as Google DeepMind, Spotify, Amazon, Accenture, Deloitte, Unilever, BCG, Bvlgari, Lululemon and Uniqlo.
Richard completed an MSc in the Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health at King’s College London and is actively involved in Breathwork research globally. He is formerly a board member of Global Professional Breathwork Alliance (GBPA) and a member of the Global Wellness Institute’s (GWI) Breathe initiative.
